Our Farm Story
The Honeycutt’s have been farming on this land since 1938. As third and fourth (working on fifth!) generation farmers, we are proud to continue our family’s agricultural heritage on the same farm in Johnston County.
Honeycutt’s Produce Baskets has been in operation since 2011 when we started a weekly produce box subscription service. Since our founding, we have expanded to offer a wider variety of produce and an on-farm weekly market. Our farming operation is a collaborative effort between our entire family to bring you delicious produce.

Barry and Jo Anne Honeycutt
Oftentimes, you can find Barry on our Farmall Super A Tractor plowing garden rows and Jo Anne organizing, picking, and preparing produce for the weekly farm market. Barry and JoAnne Honeycutt have years of professional and hands-on farming experience. As a retired Agriculture Education teacher, Barry has an expertise in every aspect of growing produce. The quality and freshness of our produce comes from his years of experience. Jo Anne keeps all aspects of the farm moving forward. From setting up the farm market to providing delicious produce recipes, Jo Anne is an expert in organizing and coordinating farm operations. She can answer any questions you have about canning, freezing, or preserving your own produce.
Derrick and Carmen Bracey
Derrick and Carmen Bracey both received degrees in Agriculture Education from NC State University. Derrick Bracey is currently a high school agriculture education teacher. Carmen Bracey works with the North Carolina FFA Association, a student-led agriculture leadership organization. Their knowledge on all areas of agriculture provide valuable expertise. They work diligently to ensure produce is harvested, packaged, and prepared on time. We all wear many hats on the farm, but the Braceys do some of it all. Both assist in the day-to-day operations, and are always willing to help with any farm duty.
Katie Honeycutt
Katie is likely the face behind the screen. Katie received a degree in Agriculture Business Management from NC State University. She can be found making Facebook posts or responding to customer emails and inquiries. Occasionally, you can find her behind her camera photographing in the sunflower or produce fields. She keeps up with the marketing and branding of Honeycutt’s Produce.
